India’s Hypocrisy Exposed: Begins Targeting Ally US, Trump After Defeat from Pakistan

27 May, 2025 14:50

In a dramatic shift following a devastating 6-0 defeat at the hands of Pakistan, India’s foreign and media strategy has taken a puzzling new turn—targeting its longtime ally, the US, and specifically President Donald Trump.

After the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, Trump claimed he had played a key role in brokering peace. “I played a key role in the India-Pakistan ceasefire,” said the former US president, in a statement that triggered a sharp backlash from Indian media.

Once praised as a “strategic partner” by Indian outlets during the conflict, Trump was swiftly vilified following his comments. Prominent Indian anchor Arnab Goswami, who had earlier championed US-India defense ties, labeled Trump “insincere, a liar, and attention-seeking.” Indian media echoed this narrative, calling Trump “a liar” and “irresponsible.”

This contradiction exposed a significant inconsistency in India’s diplomatic posture. While the Indian government had reportedly requested US mediation to secure a ceasefire, it later denied Trump’s role, asserting that the agreement was solely the result of DGMO-level (Director General of Military Operations) communication.

The fallout has extended beyond Trump. India has since lodged complaints against the US at the World Trade Organization (WTO), protested American tariffs as “unfair,” and imposed restrictions on American journalists. Jackson Hinkle, a US journalist known for highlighting alleged Indian false-flag operations, was reportedly blocked in India—a move seen by critics as an attempt to suppress dissent and alternative narratives.

Indian commentators and defense analysts argue that this aggressive posture toward the US is an attempt by New Delhi to mask its strategic failures and diplomatic isolation. “India is panicking,” said one analyst. “They are even willing to turn the US into an enemy to hide their own military and diplomatic setbacks.”

According to these analysts, India’s recent actions—blaming the US, challenging trade policies, and amplifying anti-Western rhetoric—are desperate measures to divert attention from internal weaknesses. The claim that both the US and China see India as an economic rival has also been dismissed as “laughable” by critics, who see it as part of a wider campaign to manipulate global opinion.

In the wake of its military defeat, India appears to be lashing out in all directions. Its duplicity—seeking US help while condemning US leadership—has raised serious questions about its credibility and consistency on the global stage.
