Saudi message to Iran highlights Israel’s aggressive posturing

30 May, 2025 22:07

Saudi Arabia warned Iran that if Iran did not sign a nuclear deal with the United States, it would face an attack from Israel.

According to a foreign news agency, Gulf and Iranian sources say that Saudi Arabia delivered a blunt message to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei during the Saudi Defense Minister’s visit to Tehran last month.

Saudi Arabia has said that negotiations with the United States on a nuclear deal should be taken seriously, as this is a way to avoid the risk of war with Israel.

Fearing further instability, Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz departed his son and Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman with a warning message to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The Saudi defense minister was accompanied by Iranian President Masoud Pezishkian, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Mohammad Bagheri, and Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi in a closed-door meeting at the Presidential Palace in Tehran on April 17.

According to the news agency, Iran and Saudi Arabia have not responded to the issue.
