China ready to help improve Pakistan-Afghanistan ties

China has welcomed positive progress in Pak-Afghan relations despite fluctuating relations in the past.

The spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry said that China is ready to play a role in promoting Pak-Afghan ties.

The spokesperson added that both countries announced they would elevate their diplomatic missions to ambassadorial level.

This is an important and positive move taken by the two countries to deliver on the outcomes of the China-Afghanistan-Pakistan informal foreign ministers’ meeting in May.

Furthermore, Pakistan and Afghanistan are implementing the China agreement.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced the upgrade of his embassy in Afghanistan to ambassadorial level.

Ishaq Dar said that it is hoped that this initiative will further deepen cooperation and economic and security cooperation between the two countries.

He said that this initiative will further deepen relations in the Pak-Afghan trade sector.

Dar claimed that relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan are moving in a positive direction after his visit on April 19, 2025.

It should be noted that previously, Pakistan’s embassy in Afghanistan was at the level of Chargé d’Affaires.

On the other hand, Dar signed the International Arbitration Organization Convention on behalf of Pakistan.

According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office, Foreign Minister Dar, while addressing the ceremony, praised China’s vision. Ishaq Dar said that Pakistan firmly believes in the peaceful resolution of global conflicts.
