Kuwait Work Visa Transfer Fee Revised – June 2025 Update

Kuwait Work Visa Transfer Fee Revised – June 2025 Update
Kuwait has introduced a unified fee of KD150 for all work visa transfers, removing previously granted exemptions for certain sectors.
The new policy was announced on Thursday by First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahd Al Youssef through Ministerial Resolution No. 4 of 2025. This resolution cancels Article 2 of the 2024 regulations, which had permitted some industries to avoid additional charges based on labor requirements.
Under the revised rule, the KD150 fee will now be uniformly applied to all sectors, including government-owned entities, Ministry of Health-licensed medical facilities, private educational institutions, foreign investors endorsed by the Investment Promotion Authority, sports organizations, charities, unions, endowments, and licensed agricultural, industrial, and commercial enterprises, including small businesses.
Additionally, the resolution abolishes the requirement for the Public Authority for Manpower’s Board of Directors to carry out a one-year impact assessment of the previous decision. This change enables the new fee structure to be enforced immediately without further review.
Kuwait Resumes Visa Issuance for Pakistanis After 19-Year Ban
In a separate significant move, Kuwait has officially lifted its 19-year ban on issuing visas to Pakistani citizens.
As reported by a foreign news agency, the Gulf nation will now grant various visa categories to Pakistanis, including work, family, visit, tourist, and commercial visas.
This decision opens new avenues for employment, business, and travel for Pakistanis seeking opportunities in Kuwait.
In particular, Kuwait plans to recruit approximately 1,200 nurses from Pakistan for its healthcare sector, with the first group expected to depart soon.
