US General praises Pakistan role in fight against terrorism
Pakistan role in fight against terrorism
General Michael Eric Corella, head of US Central Command, called Pakistan an important partner in the war on terrorism.
The whole world recognizes Pakistan’s positive and active role in the fight against terrorism.
US Central Command chief General Michael Corella has praised Pakistan’s role in countering terrorism.
Speaking before the US Senate Armed Services Committee, General Corella said;
“ISIS Khorasan is currently one of the most active terrorist organizations in the world.”
Pakistan has emerged as an exceptional counter-terrorism partner.
General Corella admitted that;
“Close intelligence cooperation with Pakistan resulted in the killing and arrest of dozens of ISIS Khorasan terrorists.”
General Korela said that these arrests include at least five of the organization’s most wanted leaders.
Pakistani officials have achieved many important successes for the US through intelligence sharing.
These successes include the arrest and extradition of Jafar, the mastermind of the Abbeygate bombing.
Immediately after this arrest, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir personally contacted and informed General Korela.
Pakistan continues operations against ISIS Khorasan through limited but effective intelligence sharing.
Currently, this terrorist group is active in the border area of Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Pakistan’s partnership is proving to be extremely important and effective in the global context of counter-terrorism.
More than 1,000 terrorist attacks have occurred in western Pakistan since the beginning of 2024.
US General said that nearly 700 security personnel and civilians have been killed and 2,500 injured in these attacks. Pakistan is actively fighting a war against terrorism.
However, it seems that ISIS Khorasan has weakened and its activities have decreased. The main reason for this is the heavy losses they have suffered in recent months.
General Corella added that We must maintain relations with Pakistan and India.
I don’t think this is such a blunt decision that if it is related to India, it cannot be related to Pakistan.
