No War With Iran Without Congress Approval: US Senator

United States (US) Senator Tim Kaine has declared congressional approval mandatory for action against Iran.

According to Arab media reports, US Senator Tim Kaine says that war should only be for national defense and that American interests in a war with Iran should only be defensive.

He said that Israel-Iran tensions could push the United States into endless war.

A resolution seeking congressional approval before military action against Iran has been submitted to the US Senate.

Senator Tim Kaine said that a military confrontation with Iran would only be acceptable in a defensive emergency, adding that the resolution does not seek to prevent the United States from an immediate attack.

It should be noted that Congress passed a similar resolution in 2020 during Trump’s first presidential term.
