China Urges Citizens to Leave Israel ‘As Soon As Possible’
China Issues Update After U.S President Trump Reveals Trade Deal
The Chinese embassy in Israel has issued an urgent appeal to its citizens, advising them to leave the country “as soon as possible” due to the rapidly escalating conflict between Israel and Iran.
In a statement posted Tuesday on the embassy’s official WeChat account, the mission warned of the deteriorating security conditions, stating, “The Chinese mission in Israel reminds Chinese nationals to leave the country as soon as possible via land border crossings, on the precondition that they can guarantee their personal safety.” The embassy further recommended that citizens should “depart in the direction of Jordan.”
The warning follows a dramatic surge in hostilities between Israel and Iran. After decades of enmity and covert confrontation, Israel launched a surprise aerial offensive last week targeting sites across Iran. Israeli officials stated the strikes were intended to block Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons — a claim Iran continues to deny.
The embassy cited the worsening humanitarian and security conditions in its advisory: “Much civilian infrastructure has been damaged, civilian casualties are on the rise, and the security situation is becoming more serious.” It added that the conflict is “continuing to escalate.”
The sudden spike in violence has disrupted ongoing nuclear negotiations, prompting US President Donald Trump to call on Tehran to return to the bargaining table.
