Iran Criticizes G7 Over Israel Strikes, Tensions Soar in Middle East
Iran Missile Strike on Israel
Tensions between Iran and Israel escalated sharply this week as both countries exchanged strikes and warnings, raising concerns of a wider conflict in the Middle East.
Iran slammed the G7 nations for staying silent on what it called Israel’s “cruel aggression” after several Israeli attacks reportedly killed dozens of Iranian civilians. Iran’s criticism came shortly after Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz warned Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei that he could face the same fate as Iraq’s Saddam Hussein.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed it struck key Israeli intelligence facilities in Tel Aviv, including Mossad’s operations center. The attack reportedly set parts of the building on fire.
At the same time, a cyberattack hit Sepah Bank, one of Iran’s largest state-owned banks, disrupting online services. Iran has not said who was responsible, but the incident comes amid escalating military and cyber warfare between the two sides.
In a related move, U.S. President Donald Trump, returning from the G7 summit, said he may send senior officials to Iran to work toward a “real end” to the nuclear issue. Sources revealed that Iran is using diplomatic backchannels via Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia to push for a ceasefire, offering nuclear flexibility in return.
On the humanitarian side, evacuation flights from Israel have landed in Slovakia and the Czech Republic, carrying dozens of European citizens fleeing the conflict. More evacuation efforts are underway, according to regional authorities.
The situation remains tense, with both sides showing no signs of backing down.
Iran has launched another significant missile strike on Israel, targeting Tel Aviv and Haifa for the fourth time. This assault forced the complete shutdown of the Haifa oil refinery and resulted in the deaths of three refinery workers.
Iranian media report that these latest strikes, named Operation Wa’ad-e-Sadiq 3, were carried out on territories under Israeli occupation. Iran claims that ongoing Israeli aggression has compelled them to continue these retaliatory attacks to defend their nation and deliver a decisive blow to what they call “Zionist criminals.”
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) confirmed that the attacks on Israel involved drones and missiles, marking the ninth wave of Operation Wa’ad-e-Sadiq 3, which Iran says is intended to avenge innocent lives lost.
Spokesman General Ali Mohammad declared this the ninth phase of the operation, vowing, “We will not allow the enemy a moment of peace.”
The Iranian Security Council warned that the conflict’s fourth day would be “extremely dangerous,” adding that “Israel will witness daylight in the middle of the night.”
Meanwhile, the IRGC issued an urgent warning to Israeli civilians to evacuate Tel Aviv immediately, citing plans for a major strike targeting military and government facilities, and urging people to relocate to other cities.
IRGC Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi cautioned Israel that Tehran is prepared for a prolonged war and would deploy all its advanced weaponry if necessary.
In response, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, echoing former U.S. President Trump, stated, “Our jets are hovering over Tehran. Iranian citizens must evacuate the capital immediately.”
Israeli Strikes on Iranian Civilian Sites
Israel launched early-morning attacks on Iran, causing explosions mainly in eastern and southeastern Tehran. Targets included civilian sites such as state TV, hospitals, highways, a fire station, a helicopter factory, and the port city of Bandar Abbas.
Several civilians were injured, and one female state TV employee later died. Blasts were also reported in Ahvaz, following a U.S. evacuation warning for Tehran. Israel claimed to have destroyed a third of Iran’s missile launchers and control of Tehran’s airspace, but Iran rejected these claims.
