The United Nations Security Council is set to meet again on Friday to address the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, according to Guyana, the current council president.
This second session, following an emergency United Nations Security Council meeting held after Israel’s attack last Friday, was called at Iran’s request and backed by Russia, China, and Pakistan, a diplomat informed AFP on Wednesday.
According to the news agency, Germany, France, and the UK are scheduled to engage in talks with Iran on Friday, with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi attending. These discussions will be held in Geneva, followed by a structured dialogue at the expert level.
Sources indicate that European foreign ministers will meet with their Iranian counterpart in Geneva on Friday to negotiate the nuclear issue.
The news agency’s sources also confirmed that the United States has approved the meeting between the European foreign ministers and Iran’s representatives in Geneva.
