EU Warns Iran Against Blocking Key Oil Route
The European Union expressed serious concern over the possibility of Iran shutting down the Strait of Hormuz.
EU’s top diplomat Kaja Kallas said, “Any Iranian closure of the Strait of Hormuz would be extremely dangerous.” The warning came during a Brussels meeting where the Iran-Israel war was a top issue. The Strait is one of the most important global oil routes.

Oil Prices Fall Slightly as World Waits for Iran’s Response
Oil prices, which had surged after recent US airstrikes, dropped briefly on Monday. Market traders are closely watching Tehran’s next move. Brent and WTI prices started to recover later in the day as concerns grew over Iran potentially blocking the Strait of Hormuz, which handles 20% of the world’s oil supply.
UN Atomic Watchdog Urges Iran to Let Inspectors Return
The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, has asked Iran to allow inspectors back into its nuclear sites. He said it is important to “account for” Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile, including “400 kilograms enriched to 60%.”
Grossi said Iran had informed the agency about “special measures to protect nuclear equipment and materials” after the US and Israeli attacks.

Russia Reacts to US Strikes with Strong Disapproval
Russia has voiced its opposition to the US attacks on Iran. The Kremlin said it “condemns” and “regrets” the recent airstrikes. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov added, “There has been a new escalation of tensions in the region, and, of course, we condemn this and express our deep regret in this regard.” President Putin was scheduled to meet Iran’s foreign minister in Moscow.
Iran Says Israeli Strike Targets Another Nuclear Site
Iranian officials reported that Israel hit the Fordow nuclear facility in Qom Province just a day after it was attacked by the US. The information was shared by a spokesperson and reported by Al Jazeera via Tasnim news. Thankfully, no local residents were harmed.
China Urges Peace to Avoid Wider Regional Conflict
China has called on both Iran and Israel to lower tensions. Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said, “The Chinese side urges the parties to the conflict to prevent the situation from escalating repeatedly, resolutely avoid the spillover of war, and return to the path of political resolution.” China also reminded the world that the “Persian Gulf and surrounding waters” are vital trade routes.
China further said the world must do more to keep the war from hurting the global economy. “Maintaining security and stability in this region is in the common interests of the international community,” Guo added. “China calls on the international community to make greater efforts to promote the de-escalation of the conflict and prevent regional instability from having a greater impact on global economic development.”
Iran Launches Missile and Drone Attacks on Israel
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) confirmed it has launched new strikes on Israel. According to Iranian media, “This wave was carried out with combined missile and drone operations using solid and liquid fuel missiles and utilising special tactics to penetrate the layers of the Israeli air defence shield.” The attacks hit five cities, including Tel Aviv and Ashkelon. Israel has not yet responded.
