DM Khawaja Asif Welcomes Iran-Israel Ceasefire, Praises Iran’s Response

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Tuesday welcomed the ceasefire between Iran and Israel, calling it a positive development.

Speaking to reporters at Parliament House, Asif commended Iran’s strong response during the conflict. “Iran defended itself with courage. I salute both the government and the people of Iran,” he stated.

He noted that Muslims had achieved significant victories in recent months. “Pakistan triumphed over India, and Iran prevailed against Israel,” he remarked.

Asif said the ceasefire showed that Israel’s allegations against Iran lacked credibility. He concluded with a prayer for the people of Gaza, asking for divine help in their struggle.

Earlier, Pakistan voiced serious concern over the escalating regional tensions following attacks on the U.S. Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.

In a statement issued by the Foreign Office, Pakistan condemned violations of sovereignty and territorial integrity, stressing the need for respect for international law and urging restraint from all parties involved.

The statement also reiterated Pakistan’s consistent stance on resolving conflicts through dialogue and diplomacy and called for immediate de-escalation.
