Trump Accuses Israel and Iran of Ceasefire Violations, Warns Israel

24 June, 2025 16:34

On Tuesday, US President Trump warned Israel to refrain from dropping bombs on Iran as doing so would violate the ceasefire.

Trump used his Truth Social social media account to caution Israel against bombing Iran any more, stating that doing so would breach the ceasefire he is attempting to mediate between the two countries.

Speaking to reporters before departing for the NATO summit in The Hague, Trump accused Israel of launching attacks immediately after agreeing to the ceasefire deal. He also claimed that Iran’s nuclear capabilities have been eliminated.

Earlier in the day, the Israeli military reported detecting missile launches from Iran. In response, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz declared that Israel would react “forcefully.” The military’s defense systems were activated to intercept the threat, and the public was instructed to seek shelter and remain there until further notice.

However, Iranian state media denied reports of any missile attacks on Israel after the ceasefire took effect, according to Iranian state TV.

These developments came less than three hours after President Trump announced that the ceasefire between Israel and Iran was “now in effect.”

Israel had previously agreed to the bilateral ceasefire proposed by President Trump following 12 days of conflict.

In a government statement, Israel said, “Last night, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened the cabinet to announce that Israel had achieved all the objectives of Operation ‘Rising Lion’ and much more.” The statement added that Israel had neutralized “an immediate dual existential threat: nuclear and ballistic.”

Israel also expressed gratitude toward President Trump and the United States for their support in defense and for their role in eliminating the Iranian nuclear threat. It warned that Israel would respond firmly to any ceasefire violations.

President Trump reiterated on his Truth Social platform, “THE CEASEFIRE IS NOW IN EFFECT. PLEASE DO NOT VIOLATE IT!”

He previously outlined that the ceasefire would be implemented in phases over 24 hours, starting at around 0400 GMT on Tuesday, with Iran unilaterally ceasing all operations first, followed by Israel 12 hours later.
