Trump Threatens to Withhold US Aid to Israel if Netanyahu’s Prosecution Continues

US President Donald Trump has strongly condemned the legal proceedings against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, describing them as politically motivated and a mockery of justice.

On Truth Social, Trump expressed concern that the cases are undermining important diplomatic efforts, particularly negotiations involving Hamas and the return of hostages.

Trump highlighted Netanyahu’s past achievements, portraying him as a war hero and a key ally in addressing the nuclear threat from Iran. He questioned how a sitting prime minister could be expected to attend court daily over what he referred to as trivial matters, such as cigars and toys, especially during such a critical time.

Drawing parallels to his own legal battles, Trump claimed that Netanyahu is being targeted in a manner similar to what he has experienced in the United States. He argued that these prosecutions are not only unfair but also obstruct efforts to secure peace and stability in the region.

He further emphasized that the United States provides billions of dollars annually to support Israel, more than to any other country, and warned that this level of aid may no longer be sustainable if such internal conflicts continue. According to Trump, recent successes under Netanyahu’s leadership are being overshadowed by what he views as baseless legal harassment. He urged that Netanyahu be allowed to focus on his responsibilities without interference.
