US, Iran Set for Crucial Nuclear Talks in Oslo Next Week
Nuclear talks between the US and Iran are expected to take place next week in Oslo.
According to foreign media reports, a White House envoy is expected to meet with the Iranian Foreign Minister, which is anticipated to bring significant progress towards the revival of the nuclear agreement.
Negotiations between the US and Iran regarding the restoration of the nuclear deal are ongoing, during which several complex issues from both sides will be discussed.
The purpose of these talks is to reduce the tension surrounding Iranβs nuclear program and to reach a renewed consensus on the terms of the agreement.
White House envoy Steve Witkoff is expected to meet with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. However, the final date for this meeting has not yet been set, and neither country has officially confirmed the meeting.
If this meeting takes place, it will be the first direct discussion on nuclear matters between Washington and Tehran, and it is expected to open a new chapter in the relations between the two countries.
This meeting will be the first significant dialogue since President Trumpβs administration carried out US and Israeli strikes on Iranβs nuclear sites.
Witkoff and Araghchi maintained direct contact during and after the 12-day conflict between Iran and Israel, which ended with a ceasefire agreement brokered by the US.
Omani and Qatari mediators have also played an important role in promoting communication between the two parties.
