Donald Trump Hints at Possible Gaza Ceasefire Deal Next Week
Trump to Announce New Tariff Hike on India in 24 Hours
U.S. President Donald Trump has shared hopeful remarks about the ongoing ceasefire talks between Hamas and the United States. While speaking to reporters on Air Force One, Trump said it was a good sign that Hamas responded positively to the American peace proposal for Gaza.
Trump noted that a deal could be reached by next week, but admitted he had not been fully updated on the most recent developments. His comments came as international mediators continue efforts to end the violence between Israel and Hamas.
“I haven’t been briefed yet,” Trump said. “But if Hamas is showing positive signs, then it’s good. Maybe we will have something next week.”
The U.S. has been actively involved in negotiating a truce between both sides. The proposal, which was reportedly sent earlier this week, includes temporary halts in fighting, humanitarian aid routes, and plans for long-term peace talks.
Hamas confirmed that it had received the proposal and responded in a “positive spirit”, raising hopes that a peaceful resolution may be near. However, no final agreement has been reached yet.
A senior U.S. official said that discussions are continuing and all parties are being cautious. “It’s not easy, but progress is happening,” the official added.
The current conflict in Gaza has caused hundreds of deaths and displaced thousands. Many international leaders have urged both sides to stop the violence and agree to a ceasefire.
The situation remains tense, but Trump’s statement suggests that there could be a breakthrough soon, depending on how both sides respond in the coming days.
