The spiritually uplifting annual washing ceremony of the Holy Kaaba took place at Masjid al-Haram. During this sacred event, the interior walls and floor of the Kaaba were cleansed using a mix of Zamzam water and rosewater.
Royal Family and Dignitaries Attend
The ceremony was conducted in the presence of senior Saudi royal family members and other important dignitaries. Representing the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Makkah attended the event along with imams, foreign ambassadors, and leading religious figures.
Rituals and Prayers Inside the Kaaba
During the cleansing, “40 liters of Zamzam water mixed with rose essence were used to wash the interior of the Kaaba.” Participants were also seen offering nawafil (voluntary prayers) inside the sacred structure.
Kaaba Perfumed After Cleansing
After the ritual washing, “the Kaaba was perfumed with pure oud and other fragrant scents.” A large number of worshippers and pilgrims witnessed the event, creating a spiritually rich and emotional atmosphere at the holy site.
