Iran has made it clear that it will not take part in nuclear negotiations if the United States insists on halting uranium enrichment as a precondition.
Ali Akbar Velayati, senior advisor to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, told the Iranian news agency IRNA that talks cannot proceed if stopping enrichment is a requirement.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei also stated that no date, time, or location has been set for any possible meeting between Iran and the US.
So far, five rounds of discussions have taken place between Iran’s top negotiator Abbas Araghchi and US Special Envoy Steve Wotke, but a final agreement remains out of reach.
