Shocking Revelations: Indian Companies’ Toxic, Substandard Products Pose Global Health Risks

17 July, 2025 14:54

In a startling development, renowned Indian spice companies have come under scrutiny for exporting substandard and hazardous products, leading to global bans and health risks.

According to Indian journalist Pulki Sharma, prominent spice manufacturers MDH and Everest have faced international restrictions after harmful chemicals were detected in their products. Countries including Hong Kong and Singapore have halted the sale of these Indian spices due to the presence of toxic substances.

The European Union Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has imposed bans on Indian spices following the discovery of the cancer-causing chemical ethylene oxide. Over the past four years, the EU has classified 500 Indian food products as harmful to health, reinforcing concerns about product safety.

Further investigations confirmed the presence of Salmonella, cadmium, and dangerous pesticides in Indian spice products. Shockingly, many of these items had previously received quality certifications within India.

The issue extends beyond spices. Indian pharmaceutical companies have also been implicated in exporting lethal medicines. Reuters reported that 70 children have died in African countries after consuming Indian-made cough syrup, which was found to contain high levels of ethylene glycol, a toxic chemical.

Experts attribute these crises to the Modi government’s mismanagement, corruption, and poor regulatory oversight, which have collectively endangered global health through unsafe Indian exports.

“Made in India” is no longer just a label; it has become a symbol of Modi government’s failures, toxic exports, and global disgrace.
