Saudi Arabia Refuses to Recognize Israel Until Palestinian State is Established

29 July, 2025 11:34

New York: Saudi Arabia has firmly stated that it will not establish diplomatic ties with or recognize Israel until a Palestinian state is created.

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan made this declaration while addressing a United Nations conference focused on the two-state solution, co-hosted by Saudi Arabia and France.

He underscored that resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict through the two-state solution is essential for lasting peace and stability in the region. The minister said that the conference represents a key milestone toward that goal and emphasized that genuine security, stability, and prosperity in the region must begin with justice for the Palestinian people.

Prince Faisal stressed that Palestinians must be empowered to attain their legitimate rights—foremost among them, the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. He described the Arab Peace Initiative as a fair and just framework for achieving a lasting resolution.

He also called for an immediate end to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and noted that Saudi Arabia and France have worked together to facilitate $300 million in financial support for Palestine through the World Bank.
