Who is Manjot Singh? Indian Man Detained by US Immigration Authorities, Arrested Six Times

The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has taken into custody an Indian national named Manjot Singh for entering the United States illegally and engaging in criminal activity. According to ICE, Singh has a history of repeated offenses, having been arrested six times by local law enforcement agencies over the past few years.
ICE Blames “Liberal Sanctuary Policies”
ICE released a video of Singh’s arrest and criticized “liberal sanctuary policies” for allowing him to remain in the US despite his criminal background. As part of its crackdown on illegal immigration and repeat offenders, ICE confirmed that Manjot Singh will be deported to India.
Who is Manjot Singh?
Manjot Singh is a 25-year-old Indian who was living in the US. Though details of his illegal entry remain unclear, he was recently arrested in Seattle during a coordinated operation involving ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Seattle, Homeland Security Investigations Seattle, and the U.S. Border Patrol’s Blaine Sector. Following his arrest, Singh was initially held at Whatcom County Jail and later moved to federal custody.
Charges Against Singh Include Robbery and DUI
Singh faces multiple criminal charges, including robbery, criminal impersonation, and driving under the influence of alcohol. ICE shared a video clip showing Singh appearing confused as officers arrested him.
Crackdown on Illegal Immigration Under Trump Administration
Since returning to power in 2025, the Trump administration has increased efforts to enforce immigration laws. According to recent data, over 10,000 Indian nationals have been caught for illegal entry, with more than 1,000 deported since January. Another 295 Indians are currently in ICE custody awaiting identity verification and removal.
Other Indian Nationals Also Detained in 2025
Manjot Singh’s case is part of a larger trend. In 2025, other Indian nationals have also been arrested in the US. Gurjeet Singh Malhi was apprehended for possession of child pornography, while Jaspal Singh was detained on charges related to sexual assault.
