Portugal, Germany Also Ready to Recognize Palestine as Independent State

Portugal’s Foreign Minister, Paulo Rangel, stated that they are preparing to recognize Palestine at the beginning of next month. He added that they are reviewing the situation and emphasized that Portugal is a sovereign country whose policies are not influenced by other nations.

On the other hand, the German Foreign Minister said that if negotiations for a two-state solution do not begin, Germany will be compelled to recognize Palestine.

It is worth noting that yesterday, the French Foreign Minister stated that France and 14 other countries signed the “New York Call” during a UN conference, which calls on the international community to recognize the State of Palestine.
