54 Migrants Die as Overcrowded Boat Capsizes Off Yemen Coast; Many Still Missing

An overcrowded boat capsized off the coast of Yemen, resulting in the deaths of 54 migrants, while many others remain missing.

According to foreign media reports, the tragic incident occurred in the Ahwar area of Yemen’s Abyan province, where an overcrowded boat capsized due to bad weather conditions.

The report stated that approximately 150 people were on board. Of them, 10 have been rescued—nine from the African nation of Ethiopia and one from Yemen.

Rescue operations are ongoing to locate the remaining passengers; however, rough seas and severe weather are hindering the efforts.
