India Retracts Claim on Pahalgam Attackers

ISLAMABAD – A new twist emerged in the recent Pahalgam incident, initially blamed on Pakistan by Indian media, as India’s own military denied verifying the attackers’ identities.

Soon after the Pahalgam attack, Indian news outlets quickly pointed fingers at Pakistan. However, Pakistan responded strongly with evidence-backed statements that countered the narrative, exposing what it called a false flag operation.

In a rare clarification, the Indian Integrated Defence Staff (HQ IDS) officially stated on Twitter that:

“Social media accounts are spreading false reports about the identity and background of the Pahalgam attackers. No official Indian Armed Forces media handle has prepared or released any such information.”

The tweet also clarified that:

• No authorized spokesperson or public relations office of the Indian military has made any such remarks.

• The Indian Defence HQ has not released any official information regarding the attack.

Pakistan, through active diplomacy and verified proof, has gained international support, putting India under pressure to clarify its earlier accusations.

This incident highlights the importance of factual verification in cross-border conflicts and reflects growing global attention to false flag narratives.
