Was the Death of Former Governor of Occupied Kashmir, Satya Pal Malik, Not Natural? Are Suspicions of Indian Government’s Involvement Valid?
In his final tweet, Satya Pal Malik wrote, “Whether I live or not, I will tell the nation the truth. I am under immense pressure from the government in the form of bribes and threats.” This message has added fuel to the ongoing suspicion surrounding his death.
There is growing speculation that his death may have been linked to his open disagreements with the Indian government. His refusal to stay silent and his last interview, in which he made several explosive revelations, may have played a role in the events leading up to his passing.
Malik revealed that he was continuously threatened by the Indian government and pressured to remain silent about its policies in Kashmir. In his final interview, he stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi does not care about corruption and that the government practices religious discrimination against Muslims.
He spent his final days in a modest government hospital, battling heart and kidney diseases. Despite his declining health, he refused to surrender to political pressure. Some question whether his heart and kidney conditions were intentionally left untreated or worsened due to denial of proper care.
An unofficial ban was reportedly imposed on Malik from giving interviews after 2023. In his last known interview, he stated that he was informed about the removal of Article 370 only at the last moment and was forced to keep quiet. He also revealed that he had no authority and was used as a mere rubber stamp during the historic decision on August 5, 2019.
Malik admitted that the BJP took him into confidence only a night before Article 370’s removal and insisted he remain silent. He further alleged that there was intense pressure on him not to comment on the Pulwama attack and that Modi himself had asked him to stay quiet.
According to his family and close sources, Satya Pal Malik was under immense pressure from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and was politically isolated. He expressed feelings of being used and discarded by the Indian government, telling friends that he felt like a tissue paper.
His relatives claim he was verbally threatened with consequences if he spoke out. They believe that the immense psychological stress he experienced contributed to the deterioration of his health, ultimately leading to heart and kidney failure. His conscience was reportedly burdened by the actions taken in Kashmir during his governorship.
