Dubai Launches Virtual Work Visa 2025 for Remote Professionals: Eligibility, Fees & Application Process

Dubai has rolled out a new Virtual Work Visa program aimed at digital nomads and remote-working professionals, offering them the chance to live in the emirate for one year while continuing their overseas jobs or businesses.

Unlike traditional visas, this program does not require a local sponsor. However, applicants must fulfill specific conditions, including proof of foreign employment or registered business abroad and a minimum monthly income of AED 12,856 (around PKR 987,000).

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, applicants must:

• Be employed by a foreign company or own a business registered outside the UAE.
• Hold a valid one-year work contract.
• Meet the minimum income requirement of AED 12,856.

Required Documents

Applicants need to provide:

• A passport with at least six months’ validity.
• Health insurance covering UAE residency.
• Proof of employment or business ownership.
• Clean criminal record certificate.
• Passport-size photograph.
• Salary slip or last three months’ bank statements.
• Proof of residence.

Application Process

Interested professionals can apply via the GDRFA Dubai online portal, the official Virtual Working Program website, or by visiting Amer Centers in Dubai. The application fee is AED 372.5 (approx. PKR 28,600).

If approved, applicants abroad will receive an entry permit. Upon arrival, they must complete a medical fitness test, biometrics, Emirates ID issuance, and visa stamping.

The visa remains valid for one year, with the option of renewal if requirements are met. This initiative is designed to give remote workers a unique chance to experience Dubai’s world-class lifestyle without permanent residency obligations.
