Charlie Kirk Shooting: Discord Messages Link Tyler Robinson to Rifle

Utah Governor Spencer Cox has revealed new details in the investigation into the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, saying that the suspect, Tyler Robinson, discussed hiding a rifle and engraving bullets in private messages.

At a Friday press conference, Cox said investigators interviewed Robinson’s roommate, who provided Discord messages from an account named “Tyler,” which he identified as belonging to Robinson.

The messages referred to retrieving a rifle from a “drop point” and leaving it in a bush, as well as wrapping the weapon in a towel. They also mentioned changing outfits, engraving bullets, and a scope on the rifle.

Cox confirmed that these details matched evidence found near the crime scene. Authorities recovered a bolt-action rifle wrapped in a dark towel in a tree-lined area at the edge of Utah Valley University’s campus, where Kirk was shot and killed on Wednesday.

The investigation into the killing is ongoing, with police reviewing digital evidence and continuing interviews with Robinson’s acquaintances.
