GCC to Launch Schengen-Style Visa
The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has announced plans to introduce a joint tourist visa similar to Europe’s Schengen visa. This system will first be tested at the end of 2025 and then fully launched.
GCC Secretary-General Jassem Al-Budaiwi said the project is in its final stages, and applications will soon be available on a digital platform.
With this visa, travelers will be able to visit UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman using just one visa.
This will save time, money, and paperwork for both tourists and expatriates. The visa is expected to be valid for 30 to 90 days and will support tourism, business, research, and cultural exchange—helping the Gulf region’s economy grow further.
