UAE Updates Visa Rules, Introduces New Visit & Residency Permits – Oct 2025 Update

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security of the United Arab Emirates announced significant updates to visa regulations on September 29.

Under the new policy, four new visit visas have been introduced, targeting experts in artificial intelligence, entertainment, events, cruise ships, and leisure boats.

A one-year “residency permit on humanitarian grounds” has also been launched, with the possibility of extension under specific conditions. Similarly, foreign widowed or divorced women will now be eligible for a one-year residency permit, which can also be renewed.

The new rules allow sponsors to issue visit visas for friends or relatives up to the third degree, based on their income.

For the business exploration visa, applicants must demonstrate financial stability to establish a new business in the UAE, invest in an existing foreign company, or prove professional experience.

Additionally, the truck driver visa now requires the presence of a sponsor, along with health and financial guarantees. The Authority has also provided a clear schedule for the duration of stay for each visa type and the rules for its extension.
