UAE Minimum Salary Requirements for Visit Visas for Friends & Relatives – October 2025

The UAE has introduced new income requirements for residents seeking visit visas for their first-degree relatives, extended family members, or friends. These updated regulations aim to streamline the visa process by ensuring sponsors meet specific financial thresholds based on the visitor’s relationship.

According to the revised guidelines, a resident wishing to sponsor a first-degree relative must have a minimum monthly income of Dh4,000. For visitors who are second- or third-degree relatives, the guarantor’s monthly income should be at least Dh8,000. Meanwhile, residents sponsoring friends must demonstrate a monthly income of no less than Dh15,000.

These changes come as the UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) has approved several amendments and new categories for entry visas. Among these are four new visit visa types designed for professionals specializing in artificial intelligence, entertainment, events, cruise ships, and leisure boats, according to a report from WAM news.

Additionally, the UAE has introduced a humanitarian residence permit valid for one year, which can be extended based on the discretion of the relevant authorities.

“Moreover, a residence permit for a foreign widow or divorcee is granted for one year, with the possibility of renewal for a similar period, subject to defined conditions,” the report stated.

These regulatory updates reflect the UAE’s ongoing efforts to modernize its visa system and accommodate a wider range of visitors while ensuring financial stability for sponsors.
