Trump Warns India Over Continued Oil Imports from Russia
Washington: US President Donald Trump has once again warned India over its continued oil purchases from Russia, stating that if India does not reduce its dependence on Russian oil, high tariffs will remain in place.
Trump said that the Indian government must make a clear decision regarding Russian oil, as its current policy could harm economic relations with the United States.
He also claimed that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had previously assured him that India would not buy oil from Russia, but now the situation appears to be different.
Trump further noted that tariff reductions with China may be possible, but only if China respects U.S. interests in return.
He also warned China against using rare earth minerals as a political weapon, stressing that such actions could escalate tensions.
