Bill Gates Warns World at “Dangerous Turning Point,” Urges Action

Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft and American billionaire, has warned that the world is at a “very fragile and dangerous turning point.” He says if serious action is not taken soon, humanity could face disaster.

In an interview with French newspaper L’Express, Gates expressed concern about global issues. He said the next 20 years will be crucial for humanity’s future because international cooperation is breaking down. Nationalism is rising, and development funding is shrinking.

Gates pointed out that wealthy countries are too focused on their own problems to address global challenges, while poor countries suffer from climate change, food shortages, and serious health crises. In 2023, global development aid dropped by about 5%, even though the need has increased.

He also warned that the focus on internal interests is stronger than ever, weakening global responsibility. Inequality worldwide has reached a dangerous level.

However, Gates offered hope by highlighting improvements in child health. In 1990, over 12 million children died before age five each year. By 2021, that number dropped to 5 million. With continued investment in health systems, this could fall to 2 million annually.
