Over 100 Palestinians Killed in New Israeli Airstrikes Despite Ceasefire
Gaza: Over Palestinians, including 35 children, were killed in a new wave of Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip, in what officials described as another violation of the ceasefire between Hamas and Israel.
According to Mahmoud Basal, spokesperson for Gaza’s Civil Defense, Israeli warplanes carried out intense overnight raids on Gaza City, Khan Yunis, and Rafah, targeting homes, tents, and even a hospital courtyard. Many victims remain trapped under rubble, and medics warn the death toll is likely to rise.
“In less than twelve hours, Israeli forces have committed horrific massacres against civilians,” Basal said, condemning the attacks as documented war crimes and criticizing the international community’s silence.
Eighteen members of a single family were killed when their home in Nuseirat refugee camp was bombed.
Despite the strikes, Israel later claimed it was reinstating the ceasefire at 10 a.m. local time, blaming Hamas for breaking it—a charge Hamas denies, accusing Israel of repeatedly violating the truce.
The ceasefire, brokered in Egypt earlier this month under a 20-point peace plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump, aimed to end the two-year war on Gaza.
Gaza’s Civil Defense has called for an immediate, full ceasefire, safe aid corridors, and international protection for civilians and medical teams. It described the world’s inaction as a moral failure and vowed to continue humanitarian work despite ongoing bombardments.
