Kuwait Travel Made Easier: Key Details on New Visa Process

Kuwait has officially launched its new online platform, “Visit Kuwait,” designed to simplify the process of obtaining e-visas for travelers worldwide. The digital platform aims to streamline the visa application process and is part of the country’s broader efforts to boost tourism under Kuwait Vision 2035.

According to a reports, the “Visit Kuwait” platform is now fully operational, allowing travelers to apply for four types of visas — tourist, family, business, and official — all through a single portal. This initiative is expected to make it easier for individuals to visit Kuwait for various purposes, from tourism to business.

Types of Visas Available

1. Tourist Visa: This visa is designed for those wishing to explore Kuwait’s cultural and recreational sites, offering a stay of up to three months.
2. Family Visa: This visa allows Kuwaiti residents to invite their relatives to visit and stay for up to 30 days.
3. Business Visa: Available for foreign company representatives attending meetings, events, or business negotiations, this visa is valid for 30 days.
4. Official Visa: Reserved exclusively for official delegations and diplomatic missions.

Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, the Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, emphasized that the “Visit Kuwait” platform serves as the country’s main digital tourism gateway. It not only facilitates visa applications but also provides comprehensive information on the country’s cultural, entertainment, and heritage-related activities.

The platform, introduced in August 2025, is now fully functional and aims to enhance the ease of travel to Kuwait, promoting the nation as an attractive destination for global visitors.
