Longest Government Shutdown in US History Ends

13 November, 2025 08:58

Washington, DC.: U.S. President Donald Trump has signed a bill officially ending the longest government shutdown in American history.

President Trump said that the shutdown had affected millions of people across the country but expressed relief that it was finally over. He thanked members of the Democratic Party who helped reach an agreement to reopen the government.

Trump also highlighted the country’s strong economy, saying that the stock market had reached record levels, with stock prices rising by 48%. He noted that the end of the shutdown would bring improvements in public health, safety, and lower inflation.

The President promised that “no one will be able to cause another shutdown again” and shared plans to continue working on tax cuts to support low-income workers.

“We are moving toward a stronger, safer, and more prosperous America,” Trump said.
