Maduro Reaffirms Venezuela’s Strong Support for Palestine on Independence Day
Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro reaffirmed his country’s firm and unconditional support for Palestine on the occasion of Palestinian Independence Day, calling the cause “the most sacred of all.”
Speaking in Caracas, Maduro said Venezuela remains committed to a “comprehensive and legitimate agreement” that guarantees the rights of the Palestinian people. “We will not abandon this sacred cause until the goal is achieved: Palestine will rise, free and independent,” he declared.
Marking November 15, Palestine’s Independence Day, Maduro said Palestinians have an undeniable right to life, peace, and an independent state. He stressed that true peace cannot come from temporary ceasefires alone. “Real peace will only come when justice is served for the crimes and genocide committed. Only then can recovery begin,” he said.
Maduro urged the global community to raise its voice and end what he described as a repeated pattern of “massacres followed by agreements.” He pledged Venezuela’s support for rebuilding Gaza and standing with Palestinians during their struggle. “This will be a historic moment of dignity and pride,” he said, referring to the day Palestine achieves full independence.
Maduro has long portrayed support for Palestine as a central pillar of Venezuela’s foreign policy, rooted in anti-imperialism and Bolivarian ideals. In previous remarks, he has said Venezuela stands “on the front lines with Palestine,” called for urgent international action to stop attacks on Gaza, and condemned global silence over the killing of Palestinians as a “moral crime.”
This pattern includes repeated affirmations of “unwavering support,” strong criticism of what he calls genocide in Gaza, and promises of Venezuelan humanitarian aid. His stance reflects wider regional opposition to Israeli and U.S. policies.
Recent statements further sharpen this approach. Responding to the Sharm el-Sheikh ceasefire, Maduro again called the Palestinian cause “the most sacred cause of humanity,” cited high casualty figures from Gaza, and warned that any agreement without justice would be a “peace of rubble.” He insisted on the reconstruction of Gaza, recognition of al-Quds as the capital of a Palestinian state, and full Palestinian sovereignty.
He also criticized the United Nations for “cowardly” silence, urged global protests for Palestinian rights, and repeated that Venezuela would send aid and continue supporting Palestine. His message combines moral condemnation, public mobilization, and concrete state commitments to long-term solidarity.
