UAE Introduces Four New Visit Visa Categories to Attract Global Talent

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced four new visit visa categories aimed at attracting skilled professionals, entrepreneurs, and international visitors in key sectors such as technology, artificial intelligence (AI), entertainment, and tourism. According to the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP), these reforms support the UAE’s vision to become a global hub for business, innovation, and tourism while improving quality of life for residents and visitors.

Overview of the New UAE Visit Visa Categories

The AI Specialist Visa is designed for professionals in AI, robotics, and related fields. “Available for single or multiple trips,” this visa requires a sponsor’s letter from a recognized technology or research institution and encourages global tech innovators to participate in UAE-based projects.

The Entertainment Visa facilitates entry for artists and performers involved in short-term cultural events, film shoots, stage plays, musical events, and art exhibitions. “Must include event documentation or invitation letters,” it aims to strengthen the UAE’s entertainment and cultural sectors.

The Event Visa allows visitors to attend conferences, exhibitions, festivals, and sporting events. Sponsored by the host entity, this visa supports the UAE’s growing MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) sector and enhances Dubai and Abu Dhabi’s reputation as regional business hubs.

The Cruise & Pleasure Boat Visa caters to tourists arriving via cruise ships, yachts, or pleasure boats. “Must include a detailed itinerary of travel and port stops,” this visa promotes the UAE’s expanding marine and cruise tourism.

In addition, the UAE has updated other visa categories, including truck driver visas, business exploration visas, humanitarian case visas, and residence permits for widows and divorcees of Emirati citizens. These reforms reflect the country’s commitment to global talent, trade, and humanitarian support.

According to Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, Director General of ICP:
“The changes were based on careful studies and forward-looking assessments that reviewed residency and foreign affairs trends locally and internationally.” He added that the new visa system aims to enhance the quality of life, strengthen trade and tourism, and ensure flexibility for expatriates and international visitors.

With these updates, the UAE expects increased international collaboration, tourism, and business activity while maintaining a flexible and inclusive approach for professionals, families, and investors worldwide.
