UN Security Council Approves Trump’s Gaza Peace Plan Resolution

18 November, 2025 09:09

The United Nations Security Council has approved a resolution based on U.S. President Donald Trump’s Gaza peace plan.

The resolution, which includes a 20-point plan, was presented by the United States, Pakistan, Türkiye, and several other countries.

During the vote in New York, 14 members voted in favor, while no country voted against it. Russia and China did not take part in the voting.

Key Points of the U.S. Draft

  • Deployment of an international security force in Gaza
  • Ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid
  • Withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza
  • Creation of a temporary governing body called the “Board of Peace”

The U.S. ambassador called the resolution “historic and constructive” and thanked Türkiye, Indonesia, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and others for their support. She said the approval of this plan is “a step toward ending the ongoing bloodshed.”

The Algerian ambassador said that lasting peace is impossible without justice for Palestinians, adding that Palestinians must have the right to decide their own future and that Israeli occupation of the West Bank is unacceptable.

However, Palestinian resistance groups rejected the plan.
Hamas stated that bringing an international force into Gaza would be foreign interference, and that they would not accept disarmament or any move to take away their right to resist.
