Hezbollah Calls for Unity on Lebanon’s 82nd Independence Day

In a statement released on the occasion of Lebanon’s 82nd Independence Day, Hezbollah called for the strengthening of national unity, solidarity, and cooperation among Lebanese political factions.

The Resistance group demanded certain actions in its statement to protect Lebanon’s independence from Israeli aggression and an “American siege.”

Hezbollah emphasized that “safeguarding Lebanon’s independence” is a duty that should be shared by “all Lebanese,” citing the delicate regional backdrop in West Asia.

“It requires a spirit of resistance to occupation, aggression, tutelage, and domination; national awareness and a unified stance; and the preservation of the equations that secured independence,” the statement said.

Hezbollah described in its message how these actions prevented terror groups from seizing control of Lebanese territory in 2014, ended Israeli aggression in Lebanon in 2006, forced an Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon on May 25, 2000, and prevented the Israeli occupation from accomplishing its objectives in the 2024 aggression.

“The Lebanese people have offered convoys of martyrs and a stream of sacrifices to reclaim their independence and liberate their land from the clutches of occupation,” Hezbollah underscored.

In closing, the Lebanese Resistance party emphasized that the Lebanese people who gave up everything to protect their country “will never allow their independence to be undermined or their dignity and sovereignty violated and will give all that is precious to preserve them.”
