Indian Defense Secretary Doubts Major Breakthrough During Putin’s Visit
Rajesh Kumar Singh, the Indian defense secretary, has expressed disappointment even before Russian President Vladimir Putin’s state visit to India scheduled for next month.
The Indian Defense Secretary in this regard claimed that there is no possibility of any major breakthrough in India during Putin’s visit.
However, Kumar added that the Putin-Modi meeting will discuss defense cooperation and delays in weapons deliveries. Further purchases of the S-400 defense system will be discussed. India is concerned about the delay in the delivery of the S-400 defense system from Russia.
The Defense Secretary additionally stated that the timeline for the delivery and upgrade of Sukhoi aircraft is also a concern for India. The Russian president will visit India on December 4 and 5.
