Israel Launches New Airstrikes on Lebanon After First Direct Talks

A  day after the two sides had their fisrt direct negotiations in decades, Israel has launched a fresh round of brutal airstrikes on Southern Lebanon.

Israeli airplanes attacked residential and commercial structures in the cities aof Barrachit and Jbaa in the Nabatieh Governarate and Mjdadel and Mahrouna in the South Governorate, according to Lebanese media on Thursday.

The Israeli strikes, which destroyed homes in heavily populated regions and forced many Lebanese citizens to flee their homes, have not reulted in any recorded casualties.

Avichay Adraee, the Israeli military’s Arabic spokesperson, warned inhabitants of the four towns to evacuate on social media just prior to the attacks.

In a statement, the Israeli military said it had “struck several weapon storage facilities” that belonged to the rebel group Hezbollah.
