UAE introduces new visit visa categories and rules in 2025

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) made major changes to its visa system in 2025 and introduced several new visit visa categories. These changes aim to attract more tourists and investors as the UAE plans to become a global hub for tourism, living, and investment.

New Visit Visa Categories in 2025

In 2025, the UAE launched four new types of visit visas:

1. AI Specialist Visas – For individuals working in the artificial intelligence sector, available for single or multiple entries. Sponsored by registered organizations.

2. Entertainment Visas – For people involved in cultural, artistic, and tourism activities.

3. Event Visas – For attending conferences, exhibitions, festivals, or sporting, religious, and academic events. Requires an invitation from an approved host.

4. Maritime Tourism Visas – For cruise passengers and leisure boat travelers, offering multiple entries and supported by licensed sponsors on approved travel routes.

Minimum Income for Sponsor Visit Visa

The UAE also updated rules for visit visas sponsored by friends or family. Sponsors must meet minimum income requirements depending on their relationship with the visitor:

• First-degree relatives: Dh4,000

• Second- and third-degree relatives: Dh8,000

• Friends: Dh15,000

These new rules aim to ensure sponsors can support their visitors while making the UAE more attractive for international travelers.
