Dhaka Bids Farewell to Khaleda Zia Amid National Mourning

Thousands have gathered in Dhaka to bid farewell to former Bangladesh Prime Minister Khaleda Zia at her state funeral, as the nation mourns the passing of one of its most prominent political leaders.

However, few hours ago preparations were underway for the funeral prayer of former Bangladeshi Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.

The former prime minister’s body has been brought to the funeral venue in Dhaka.

Bangladesh President Mohammad Shahabuddin arrived at the venue to pay respects.

Chief Advisor of the Bangladeshi Caretaker Government, Mohammad Yunus, is also present.

Key international leaders and the Speaker of the National Assembly, Ayaz Sadiq, are attending the funeral. Speaker Ayaz Sadiq is representing Pakistan at the event.

The funeral prayer will be led by Mufti Abdul Malik, Imam of Baitul Mukarram Mosque.

Bangladesh has declared a national holiday and day of mourning across the country in honor of Khaleda Zia.
