Pezeshkian Takes a Jab at the US and Israel over Double Standards on Human Rights

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, while addressing a ceremony honoring those responsible for building residential units for the police force, said that if a nation is committed to firm determination, unity, and following the Quran and Imam, it can never be defeated by powers like the United States and the Zionist state.

According to a report by Mehr News Agency, President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized the importance of justice and fairness at a ceremony held to mark the completion of the construction of the police force’s residential units, saying that the path of the Imam, the path of God, is to follow the commands of the Quran correctly. No group, nation, gender, or creed should stand in the way of justice.

Pezeshkian, while describing the Quran as the book of life, further said that Imam Hussain (AS) had said on the way to Karbala that the Imam is the one who acts on the Book of God, establishes justice, and paves the way for truth in society. The path of justice and truth is the duty towards which we should all move.

He emphasized that he does not consider these concepts to be mere slogans or advice but rather has complete faith in them and wants there to be such justice in the country that no person is ashamed in front of his family.

Criticizing the double standards of Western powers, the President said that on the one hand, the United States and the usurper Zionist state are shamelessly committing genocide on a global scale, and on the other hand, they talk about human rights and international law. A nation that does not support them is crushed, but if a nation is determined, united, and agreed upon one Qibla, one Book, and one Imam, it will not give up easily.

President Pezeshkian, while mentioning the Quranic teachings on supporting the underprivileged, clarified that a prayer that does not solve the problems of the people, does not care about the livelihood of the needy, and does not defend the orphans has no value according to the Quran. True piety is not possible without the livelihood of the people.

Finally, he appreciated the efforts of the police force and said, “I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your services for the security and safety of the country. Your real reward is with Allah, but we also consider ourselves your servants as far as possible.”
