Iran Arrests Suspected Mossad Spy During Tehran Unrest
Iranian security and intelligence forces have arrested a spy whose activities are similar to those of the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad during the recent unrest in Tehran.
According to a report by the Mehr News Agency, an agent affiliated with Mossad who was engaged in subversive activities under the guise of recent riots in Tehran has been arrested.
The suspect, who is said to be affiliated with a Germany-based organization, admitted that he began his espionage activities on Instagram, where he would identify people who liked specific posts.
Iranian security forces caught the suspect red-handed while he was operating undercover among rioters in Tehran. According to the suspect’s confessions, sophisticated methods were used to recruit, train, and connect him with Mossad elements.
Giving details of his mission, the accused said that he was initially asked to go to people’s homes, but soon the instructions were changed and he was ordered to shift operations to markets. He said that all the missions were based entirely on payment of money, and he was taught all the spying techniques through mobile phones.
The accused also made the sensational claim that his mobile phone had a capability through which it could receive nearby signals and identify phone numbers around him. He was targeted to contact specific people through these numbers.
