Who Is Rebecca Good? Wife of Renee Nicole Good Identified After ICE Shooting in Minneapolis

09 January, 2026 10:32

The wife of Renee Nicole Good has been identified as Rebecca Good, following the fatal shooting of Renee during a federal immigration operation in Minneapolis. The incident took place on January 7, 2026, and has shaken the local community, leaving a family devastated.

Renee Nicole Good, 37, was shot by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent during an enforcement action in a residential area of south Minneapolis. The ICE agent was later identified as Jonathan Ross. Renee died from gunshot wounds, while her wife Rebecca witnessed the tragedy.

Who Is Rebecca Good

Rebecca Good is reportedly 40 years old as of January 2026. She is three years older than her late wife. The couple lived together in Minneapolis and ran a small repair business called B. Good Handywork LLC.

Renee and Rebecca shared a blended family. Renee was the mother of three children, including a six-year-old son from her previous marriage. Rebecca treated the child as her own, according to people close to the family.

Before settling in Minneapolis, the couple lived in Kansas City, Missouri, in the Waldo neighbourhood. Local residents described them as quiet, kind, and family-oriented.

Family’s Life Before the Tragedy

After the 2024 US presidential election, Renee and Rebecca reportedly moved to Canada for several months. They later returned to the US and relocated to Minneapolis in search of stability and work.

Neighbours said Renee was a loving mother and a supportive partner. One resident described her as “a normal mom who loved her kids and her spouse,” rejecting any narrative that linked her to wrongdoing.

Rebecca Good’s Emotional Reaction

In the moments after the shooting, Rebecca Good was seen on video kneeling in the snow and crying uncontrollably. She repeatedly blamed herself for what happened, saying she had asked Renee to come outside to observe the ICE activity in their area.

Witnesses heard Rebecca shouting for help, saying her wife had been shot and that their young child was at school. The video quickly spread online and added to the public outcry.

What Happened During the ICE Operation

The shooting occurred around 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of East 34th Street and Portland Avenue. Video footage shows ICE agents surrounding Renee’s car and ordering her to step out.

As Renee attempted to reverse and drive away, one agent fired multiple shots through the windshield. Renee was hit in the head. Her car crashed into a nearby light pole.

She was rushed to hospital but later pronounced dead.

Growing Public Reaction

The incident has sparked nationwide debate about the use of force during immigration operations. Protests erupted in Minneapolis, with community leaders demanding accountability and transparency.

Rebecca Good and Renee’s children are now receiving support from relatives, friends, and community members.
