JAIPUR, Rajasthan (January 10, 2026) — A luxury Audi crashed into pedestrians and roadside stalls in Jaipur’s Journalist Colony near Kharabas Circle late Friday night. Two people died, and 16 others were injured.

Authorities said the driver, Dinesh Ranwa, a solar businessman from Churu, was allegedly racing another car while intoxicated.

Police said the Audi was racing another vehicle before the crash. An occupant named Pappu said Dinesh Ranwa was driving. Two other people were also in the car. Investigators believe all four occupants were intoxicated.

Pappu told police that Dinesh called him to Kharabas Circle before the deadly race. The other car reportedly fled the scene.
