Iran Calls G7 Statement Interference, Cites Israel’s Role in Recent Violence
Tehran: The Iranian Foreign Ministry has condemned the recent statement by G7 countries as “interference,” asserting that there is undeniable evidence of Israel’s role in promoting violence and terrorism within Iran.
In an official statement, the ministry claimed that peaceful protests in Iran were hijacked and turned violent by Zionist-backed terrorists. Between January 8 and 10, both protesters and security personnel came under attack. The ministry emphasized that there is “undeniable evidence” of Israeli involvement in these acts, citing statements by American and Israeli officials as clear proof of incitement to violence.
According to the Foreign Ministry, Iran respects the right to peaceful protest and remains committed to the civil rights enshrined in its constitution. It further stated that the government will fulfill its responsibility to protect citizens and maintain public order, defending national security against foreign-sponsored terrorism.
The ministry described the G7’s remarks on Iran’s internal affairs as interventionist, claiming that the group’s “double standards” on human rights under U.S. leadership have been exposed. It further alleged that G7 member states themselves have been guilty of serious human rights violations.
The statement also accused G7 countries of being directly complicit with Israel in the genocide of the Palestinian people, arguing that the group has no moral authority to lecture others on human rights. It added that the Iranian nation would not forget the civilian casualties resulting from Israeli attacks in 2025.
Concluding the statement, the Iranian Foreign Ministry demanded that the G7 cease its illegal interference in Iran’s internal affairs, lift unlawful sanctions, and stop using human rights as a political weapon. It stated that encouraging violence and terrorism under the guise of human rights remains unacceptable.
