24 January, 2026 18:44

Muslims around the world are preparing for Ramadan 2026, with fasting hours expected to vary significantly depending on the country. “In the initial days of Ramadan, the duration of fasting will be approximately 12 hours, gradually extending to around 13 hours towards the end of the month,” experts have indicated.

In Pakistan, due to seasonal and geographical factors, fasting hours are expected to range between 13 to 13.5 hours. Gulf countries including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Kuwait are anticipated to observe fasting hours between 12 to 13 hours.

Meanwhile, European countries such as the United Kingdom and Germany will experience longer fasting periods due to higher latitudes, with Muslims observing extended hours of fasting during the holy month.

The expected start date of Ramadan 2026 has also been projected, allowing Muslims to plan for prayers, suhoor, and iftar accordingly. Variations in fasting duration highlight the influence of geography and seasonal changes on religious observances worldwide.
