India’s Maharashtra deputy CM Ajit Pawar dies in aircraft crash

Wednesday morning turned tragic in India’s Maharashtra state after a plane crash killed Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and four other people, according to NDTV.
Flight From Mumbai to Baramati
Ajit Pawar was travelling from Mumbai to Baramati, a city in Pune district, when the accident occurred. Baramati is his hometown and a key political base in the state.
Chartered Plane With Five On Board
Indian media reported that Pawar was flying in a privately operated chartered aircraft. There were four other people on board the plane at the time of the crash. All five occupants lost their lives.
Senior Political Leader Lost
Ajit Pawar was also the chief of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). His death marks a significant loss for Maharashtra’s political landscape.
