Mirjana Pajković Video Leak: Montenegro Political Scandal Explained

Montenegro is facing a major political scandal after Mirjana Pajković, Director General for Human Rights, resigned following the leak of explicit videos allegedly involving her. Pajković claims she is a victim of “revenge p*rnography” and coordinated blackmail, accusing presidential advisor Dejan Vukšić of making threats. She shared transcripts of messages, including one stating, “You will come sooner or later,” to support her allegations.

Vukšić, a former head of the National Security Agency (ANB), has denied the accusations, claiming Pajković stole his phone in 2024 to fabricate recordings and messages. He further alleged connections between Pajković and organized crime, which she dismissed as an attempt to deflect attention from his own conduct. Both officials resigned in January 2026 after the public feud made their positions untenable.

The scandal also involves President Jakov Milatović. Pajković stated she reached out to the President for protection as a victim of threats but received no response. She also alleged that her candidacy for the position of Ombudsman was deliberately ignored as part of an effort to sideline her.

Authorities are now investigating the digital evidence submitted by both parties, while Pajković has filed multiple criminal complaints for threats and unauthorized distribution of private content. The controversy has ignited public debate over the protection of individuals from non-consensual intimate imagery and the accountability of government officials.
